Wanderlust 2017 begins

Yeah I'm already a week behind ... LOL ... there was a ... uhmmm ... learning curve on using the videos on the website. Anyway, first lesson done. We were suppose to "make a statement" for 2017 and do an art journal page w/ pics of places we love. I, of course, chose our member resort in Mexico .... you can't really see my pics cauz I put paint all over them. I have no idea what I'm doing ... but somehow I kinda like the end result.

Little bit of VD

Sorry I couldn't resist ... LOL

So I finished a couple of things and took them up to Elderberry Place last nite ... didn't take pics of the updated booth ... crap I'm so new at this! I will try to do better!

These are paper mache hearts I painted, inspired by Jodi Ohl (I took her class last summer in Paducah, KY).

And these are the wooden hearts I talked about in my last post ... I painted and added sentiment by stamping on an old dictionary page and hung w/ rusty wire. I made 4 of those.

Hoping someone loves them and wants to take them home!

Moss Creek Lane 2017

Last nite was Vendor Nite at Elderberry Place. All vendors were encouraged to come "fluff" their booths after store closing for the day, as well as spend alittle time getting to know the other vendors. I got there about 5:15 (store closes at 5:00). I took down the Christmas items, added some new 'junk', added some new art and took away a few things. My booth isn't huge (which is fine w/ me!) so I decided I will rotate stuff in and out every couple months just to keep it looking fresh. I'm so new at this booth thing ... I kept sending pics to my daughter asking her if this was working ... if that was working, etc. She blessed it (she is just more 'visionary' than I am!) so after an hour I was done.

Here are a couple pics:

Middle pic is the 'back' of my booth ... I need to utilize as much 'hanging up' area as I can, so I really need to figure out how to use the back of the shutters and door ... thought about putting a shelf ON the wooden door ... need to refer to my handyman (husband!) to see if he's able to do something like that for me!

Anyway -- the next holiday is Valentine's Day so I made up 4 mixed media wooden hearts that I'll put in the booth next week.

They are about 10" tall ... thought they turned out pretty cute!

Also going to make a little heart garland from construction paper and yarn ... probably should have my grandkids helping on that one!  Thought it would be cute in the booth.

Hello 2017

Hard to believe it's a new year.

So for my first month of being a vendor I didn't do toooooo bad.  As my husband would say I "covered the rent for the next 6 months."  I take that as a successful December.  Had I been vendoring in Sept or even October I'm sure all my Christmas stuff would have sold out.

On the day of our anniversary, we were having a lovely lunch when I got a text from Elderberry Place owner telling me that someone had bought all 4 of my 'ruler xmas trees' and wanted to know if I could make 2 more by the next day.  Well of course!  I grinned thru the rest of our lunch.  We didn't have any other plans till that evening (ROGUE ONE movie!!!) so we went back home and I created 2 more art pieces for some sweet soul whom I thank for bolstering my confidence!
