Grandkid Ornaments 2015

This year's ornaments were a bit of a headache, due to my inability to do letters free-hand.  <sigh>   I found a stencil at HobbyLobby that was perfect and I loved the letters .... and I KNOW how to stencil.  I know the brush has to be dry ... blah blah blah.

Anyway these are mini canvases that I glued mono-prints (Gelli-Plate prints in Christmas colors!) onto the front of ... painted the sides and added some stenciled dots (drywall tape!!).  And then the lettering began.   The stencil is whimsical lettering, which is perfect, but some of the letters flourish out the side and it's hard to get the letters side by side.  So after many screws ups ... gluing more squares of gelli-prints on top of gelli-prints .... I finally got good letter stencils on the front of these bad boys.

They did turn out super cute and I'm pleased w/ them, but they were a LABOR.OF.LOVE.  There is one ornament that is 3 prints deep on the front ... one more stencil screw up and I would have had to start from scratch on that one.  LOL

Let the holidays begin.
