COVID COVID GO AWAY

Good Grief ... now don't get me wrong ... I am loving getting all this art studio time. I am loving that my husband is working from home in an office upstairs whilst I work in the studio, or play pickleball in the garage against my newly constructed wall, or ride my bike (if the friggin' weather would cooperate).

I have "plenty" to do ... but I miss my grands. I have seen them from afar but I can't hug them and eat them up like I want to.

Anyway I have been working on many many art projects, trying to perfect my palette knife painting, sometimes resorting to just getting a brush out ... LOL ... I am painting every board, every canvas I can find ... even painting over previous "master mistakes". I will soon have enough art for a show at an art gallery. Not that I'd ever DO that.

So here's a sampling of what I've been up to:

The five mirrors are actually from IKEA and I put GelPrints all over them, and then stamped a few things here and there. Went a little crazy doing those .. they were fun!

Gettin' Back On the Class Horse!

Had my first class last nite at Elderberry Place! We did the "Funky Carrot" and had a great time w/ these 4 ladies! It's truly a blast creating with other women … just sitting around a table w/ paints and brushes … conversations and laughter … and creating!

We'll be out of town next week, so the following week I'll be doing the "Funky Birds" class!

These are the two classes I will be doing in March!! I have one this week on Weds. -- the Funky Carrot.

I am Ashamed

This blog has been sooooooooooooo neglected. So much has been going on though … I shall attempt to catch up!

1. I am fully retired. We are starting my Boeing pension next month. I would still like to work part time somewhere cauz I feel the need to … however I am in full ART mode. Elderberry Place wants me back teaching classes and they have expanded into the bldg. next door and will have a classroom fully dedicated to classes ONLY (meaning I can leave my sh#t there and not shelp it up there for every class!!) I have one scheduled for next week and the following weeks thru April. Hoping to get some interest!!!

2. I am signed up to do a Summer Art Sampler for Crossroads Arts Council w/ the Wentzville Parks and Rec. Should be great fun!

3. The director of the Arts Council asked if anyone was interested in doing classes at The Olive Tree Market in Wentzville, and of course I raised my hand! Not sure how that will work out against classes at Elderberry but I'm sure we can figure it out!

4. PICKLEBALL! I have been playing since last July and loving it so much! I am playing 3x a week now and just registered for my first tournament (after a PB friend begged and begged!). We will play in the Golden Games on 1 May. I am beyond terrified, but she assures me that all will be FINE and we'll have a blast … and of course the free t-shirt!! LOL

Guess that's all for now. I need to post some art pics. I have been working diligently in the studio creating some things to put in Elderberry -- the owner has agreed to let me put art in the shop w/o having a booth, so we need to work that out!

Things are good … I am bless beyond measure and beyond what I deserve. I am enjoying this life!

Working on Magnets

These are turning out soooo cute! They are original artwork I scanned and sized down to put on magnets … totally love them!

Still working on them … and MANY more designs … they will get some distress ink along the sides and of course a magnet on the back! Just a perfect little gift for co-workers, friends, teachers, etc etc etc! :-)

Grandkid ornaments 2019

Well I had a rocky start on them this year and the first round looked like a kindergarten craft project gone terribly wrong (see previous post!), so I started over. I made some gel prints with stencils and Christmas colors, tore them up and mosaic'd the mini flower pots! Added string and a bell inside, printed their names on paper and cut those out … all done and ready to give to them this weekend!

FRIDAY!

Aaaah Friday -- doesn't really MEAN as much when you're 'self employed' …. but old habits die hard! LOL

So the Grandkid ornaments took a nasty turn this week:

What should have been mega cute turned into the likes of a kindergarten project. So I started over w/ new idea:

When in doubt pull out the GelPlate!! I made several Christmas color pages, tore them up and began gluing. They aren't done yet, but they are looking much much better!

This weekend on the agenda -- Ikea w/ my youngest. She just moved into a new house and is ready to do some new organization ideas and decorating ideas. We'll have a blast! Unfortunately her older sister couldn't come along … bummmmmer!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!
